Unofficial Fishery Record at Carsington Water! 7lb Rainbow Trout
Unofficial Fishery Record at Carsington Water! 7lb Rainbow Trout

On Saturday 5th April James Tearle from Leighton Buzzard captured the largest rainbow trout ever taken from Carsington Water. James was fishing a floating line with a team of black buzzers off the front edge of North Island when he felt the fish take. As he tightened into the take and the fish took off he realised he was into a good fish. The trout lead James a merry dance all around the boat before eventually succumbing to the net. James who was fishing on a catch & release ticket weighed it in his weigh net and returned it to the water to fight another day. Unfortunately as it could not be weighed in on the fishery scales to make an official record, but well done to James, not bad for his first day out of the season!
