Ranger's review:
The most productive method for bait anglers at Scaling Dam during the last week was
ledgering on or very close to the bottom with worm or Powerbait. Overall, the most successful bait for the week was Orange Powerbait, with several anglers taking a full limits with this.
Fly anglers have also had more success than last week, with the South Shore the best area
Dawson's Olive and Montanas were the pick of the patterns. A fine over wintered rainbow of 6lbs was the best fish of the week, caught in the deep water off the high bank on the South Shore by fifteen years old Ben Hubbard from Marske. The fish was tempted by his offering of worm and Powerbait cocktail. With the weather and coloured water starting to settle, the prospects for the coming week are looking good.

Best catch:    Several full limits of around 18 to 20lbs.

Best flies:    Dawson's Olive and Montanas.
Best baits:    Worm and Orange Powerbait

Best areas:    Both ends of the Dam Wall.
