Ranger's Review:
The slightly warmer weather has encouraged fish into feeding, with more fish being seen on the surface. The bank area between the Dam wall and Tower Knowe has produced some good catches of fish to bait anglers. Mr Mark Bell, first time angler at Kielder, caught a beautiful over wintered Rainbow of 4lb whilst fishing with a worm and bubble float at The Belling. Boat anglers have found fishing at Whickhope and Plashetts the most productive with those on the fly finding fish just under the surface on black lures. Fishing boats from the 1st May will be from 8.30am-8pm. Tower Knowe shop has also increased it's stock and range of fishing tackle which is well worth a visit if passing.
Best catch: 4lb, Mark Bell.
Best bait: Worm and Powerbait.
Best flies: Ace of Spades.
Best areas: Whickhope (north shore), Tower Knowe (east), The Belling and Plashetts
