Allan Miller, 18 years of age from Dalmellington, Ayr was the latest lucky angler to land one of Kielder's golden trout. The magnificent looking fish weighed 5lb 7oz and was taken from Leaplish Waterside Park on ledgered multi coloured power bait. The fish made several runs and put up a great fight before coming to the waiting net of Allan.

This is a magnificent achievement as only 25 golden trout were stocked in to Kielder Water on the 1st August last year to mark Kielders 25th anniversary.

William Murphy, Allans grandfather said "I have been coming to Kielder Water for the past 20 years and the place keeps getting better and better"

William had also caught a lovely rainbow the same day tipping the scales at 5lb 7oz.
