Ranger's review:
Hury continues to impress with the rod average again over 4 for the week!!
The season's first decent buzzer hatches are starting to get underway now, with quite large ones hatching from late morning and through the afternoon over shallower areas. Any black spider patterns or palmered patterns fished with a very slow retrieve should put a fish or two in the net. Fish are well spread around the reservoir so it pays to keep moving.
There are plenty of blues to be had, with one in six fish caught being a hard fighting blue.
Regular Fred Thompson had seven blues in his limit catch on Thursday. So if you have never
caught one of these strikingly coloured trout, known for their hard fighting qualities then why not spend an enjoyable day in the beautiful Teesdale countryside at Hury and you will have a good chance to land one.
Best flies: Black Pennell, William's Favourite, Kate McLaren, Black Fritz.
Best areas: How Gill Point, Corporal Hill, Top Dam.
