Ranger's review:

Excellent fishing once again at Grassholme, with both blue and rainbow trout in plentiful supply. Sport has been frantic with Paul Fenny returning 7 fish and keeping 8 others all on a Black Dancer.  Many other anglers have also been taking advantage of the catch and release rules allowing good sport with the ability to return unharmed fish on fly tackle, as L Everitt did on Thursday returning all of his 8 fish. Floating and intermediate lines have worked well with the fish high in the water for the majority of the day.
The largest blue went to T. Robson at 5lb with other blues and lots of rainbows to 4lb.
The changeable weather didn't spoil the sport at all with plenty of consistent fishing throughout  the week to ledger and float tackle. Yellow and Chartreuse extra scent glitter has performed well on the ledger with worm the bait to use on the float.
We have started to stock with some double figure fish now and as an added incentive there will be a free day's fishing each month for the captor of the largest fish which has been verified by the ranger team.

Best flies:    Black Dancer, Orange Fritz and Black Pennell.
Best baits:    Orange, Chartreuse or multi coloured Powerbait with Magic Dust mixed in for
  extra effect.
Best areas:    All areas fishing well especially in front of the Lodge and Low Rigg.
