Ranger's review:
We experienced all four seasons in a week at Grassholme, from glorious sunshine to blizzards! This mix of weather certainly makes fishing more challenging. Ledgering has again been the top method, with the old favourite of Powerbait and worm cocktail the most consistent bait. Add to this a swim feeder full of Magic Dust and this is probably the most successful and consistent approach at Grassholme. Intermediate lines and lures are the fly anglers choice at the moment, with several of the regulars catching their limit with this method with Low Rigg bank the most favoured area. This week sees the start of the introduction of bigger fish grown on at our fish farm and there will be a free eight fish permit for the captor of the biggest fish of the month throughout the season - so good luck to you all.
Best flies: Cat's Whisker, Black Fritz, Dawson's Olive
Best baits: Spring Green Powerbait & worm cocktail,
Best areas: Low Rigg Bank, Lodge Front
