Ranger's review:
Adverse weather conditions have once again hit Fontburn, however the hardy anglers visiting this week have been rewarded with bumper catches of trout.
Chris Johnson from South Gosforth took home three cracking rainbows for just over 14lb,
caught on Orange Fritz on the North shore.
K. Douglas took eight for 22lbs, I. Garrett took his limit for 21and 3/4 lbs and
D. Taylor had three fish over 4lb in his haul.
With many other anglers taking catches of over 20lb, and commenting on the terrific fight put
up by the blue trout stocked weekly, Fontburn is the place to fish when the weather improves.
Best flies: Cat's Whisker, Dawson's Olive and Orange Fritz.
Best bait: Ledgered multi coloured / rainbow Powerbait or Ledgered Worms
Best areas: North Shore
