Ranger's review:
Another week of poor weather conditions has hampered fishing, with the water temperature still only at 6C. Anglers are finding the fish shoaled up and any angler that does hit on any of these shoals is catching almost a fish with every cast. Paul Dunn was a perfect example of this when he caught 8 fish and returned 12 more, fishing the fly on The Meadow. He lured these fish with the Black Fritz, a top fly for this time of year. The fish are still tending to stay deep so intermediate lines are the order of the day.
Bait anglers are finding the fish congregating on Murray Point between the first and second fence, with several 8 fish catches from this area during the week. The warmer forecast and some double stockings of 2,000 fish should boost the fishing prospects for April.
Best flies: Dawson's Olive, Black Fritz, Cat's Whisker.
Best baits: Powerbait worm cocktail.
Best areas: Murray Point, (between first and second fence) for bait anglers
Cronkley Bay for fly anglers.
