Ranger's review:

The wintry weather has resulted in poor conditions and low water temperatures causing the fish to be more reluctant to feed. Even so, we have seen some excellent catches with dozens of eight fish limits including a great catch of 22lb for Mr C Bailey, which included a fish of 7lb. The season's record was almost beaten by John Fletcher who took one of the 30, 10-15lb fish stocked pre season. This fish of 14lb 5oz was taken next to the first fence on ledgered orange Powerbait. Fly anglers are catching well   on The Meadow and in the Bay of Plenty with an intermediate line and the Black Fritz the order of the day. Bait anglers are still finding an abundance of fish next to the Oak tree at Pow Hill, which has been  the best area since the beginning of the season with Powerbait.

Best flies:  Dawson's Olive, Black Fritz, Cat's Whisker.

Best baits:  Powerbait worm cocktail.

Best areas:  Pow Hill (Oak Tree) on bait.
  Bay of Plenty on fly.
