BRISTOL WATER FISHERY REPORTS
WEEK ENDING Monday 6th October 2008
TOTAL FISH TAKEN TO DATE 47,705
Weather: Very unsettled week with some fresh winds, plenty of rain and much cooler.
Water: The high water levels remain at the main lakes though Barrows are well down at present. Temperature at the surface has fallen to 15°C.
Chew: The change in the weather has not helped the fishing this week. Very rough at times with some very heavy showers and much cooler. When the wind dies off there are still some good black buzzer hatches. These are most likely during the daytime and evenings and morning sport is often very limited. Most fish seem to be coming from Herriotts end of the lake with good drifts up as far as Wick or Moreton. The Dam basin has seen little in the way of boats as it has often been quite choppy. Bank anglers have enjoyed better sport from Wick Green when the wind is east or south. Best fish of the week was a superb 8.04 brown taken form the shore at Nunnery by EMILIO SOLDANI. The fish took a black lure.
This weeks catch:
228 trout taken by 160 rods, average 1.4 per rod
Total catch to date:
47,165 trout taken by 14,555 rods, an average catch of 3.2 per rod.
