BRISTOL WATER FISHERY REPORTS
WEEK ENDING Monday 29th September 2008
TOTAL FISH TAKEN TO DATE 47,165
Weather: Another lovely week of light winds and warm days. Many started foggy but plenty of sunshine soon followed. Much colder nights now and dark well before finish time. No rain for the week.
Water: The high water levels remain at the main lakes though Barrows are well down at present. Some blue/green algae at Barrow 2. Temperature at the surface remains at about 16°C.
Blagdon: The calm conditions have moved the fish offshore making them hard to reach most of the time for the bank anglers. Boats have found fish in many areas but few moving on the surface. Anchoring with nymphs fished deep seems best. Some success on daddy long legs fished wet. As soon as the wind picks up bank fishing will improve again and any of the shallower areas will begin fishing.
This weeks catch:
258 trout taken by 155 rods, average catch 1.7 per rod
Total catch to date:
47,165 trout taken by 14,555 rods, an average catch of 3.2 per rod.
