BRISTOL WATER FISHERY REPORTS
WEEK ENDING Monday 6th October 2008
TOTAL FISH TAKEN TO DATE 47,705
Weather: Very unsettled week with some fresh winds, plenty of rain and much cooler.
Water: The high water levels remain at the main lakes though Barrows are well down at present. Temperature at the surface has fallen to 15°C.
Blagdon: A similar story at Blagdon this week as at Chew. The south side is most popular at present but mainly because of the shelter from the winds. When accessible Pegs, Ash Trees & Orchard Bay are well worth a try. Boats have been staying in the deeper water with some limited success. J. CHARLES from Ilminster took a 6.01 brown when afloat this week. The fish fell to green and blue fritz lure while he was fishing in Butcombe.
This weeks catch:
188 trout taken by 124 rods, average catch 1.5 per rod
Total catch to date:
47,165 trout taken by 14,555 rods, an average catch of 3.2 per rod.
