BRISTOL WATER FISHERY REPORTS
WEEK ENDING Monday 15th September 2008
TOTAL FISH TAKEN TO DATE 44,909
Weather:
At last we have some settled, gentle weather! A mild week of mainly cloud with some light rain. Light winds from the west and east and occasionally – some sunshine. Cooler mornings and evenings.
Water:
The blue/green algae at Chew is snow clearing and has gone from Barrow 1 & 2. Blagdon remains mainly clear. All lakes are very full. The surface temperature is still 15°C.
Blagdon:
Bank fishing at Blagdon very successful from most shallow areas. Green Lawn, Rainbow, Wood Bay, Pegs and Ash Trees are all worth fishing at the moment. Boat anglers are finding the fishing a little harder but with the fish closer inshore areas such as Bells Bush, Rugmoor, Wood Bay and the Top End should be explored. Nymphs and corixa patterns on floaters are best.
Catch:
387 trout taken by 175 rods, average catch 2.2 per rod
