Bewl Water Fishing Report w/e 3rd April
Bewl Water Fishing Report w/e 3rd April

Bewl continues to fish well from both boat and bank, and the week produced an excellent rod average of 4.28 while fish quality remains good with an average fish weight of 2lbs 2ozs.

Bank fishing remains good with fish mainly close to the edges and fish which have been deep at the beginning of the season are moving up into the upper layers on the warmer days.

The water at Rosemary Lane is coloured and the fishing in that area has slowed.  Best areas for boats have been Hook Straight, Hatherell's Bay and The Nose while Bramble Point, Bramble Bay and Seven pound Creek have proved the best places for bank anglers.

Most popular flies have been boobies, cormorants, tadpoles and blobs.

Largest fish was a 7lb 12oz rainbow caught by A Ayles from the bank at Bramble Point.  Russell Jessup caught a 6lb 6oz rainbow from a boat in Hook Straight.  Bewl boat regular Chris Oxford reaped a fine reward for braving the heaviest snowfalls of the year catching 8 rainbows for 35lbs.
