Well the fishing has slowed up this week with a brown algal bloom putting the fish right off. A rod average of 1.8 for the week showed how some anglers really struggled and couldn't tempt anything where as other anglers put plenty of fish in the net.
Kev Hart had the best bag of fish this week fishing from a boat and using small nymphs on a floater Kev landed 12 fish with the best a fine 6lb rainbow which took a Black Diawl Bach off the top. Kev's boat partner Scott Wilson had 7 just to show the fish can be had. John Grainy had a great days sport also taking 12 fish. The top bags have been coming of the boats as the fish are starting to find that deeper water and the boils.
Bank anglers are having to fish off the points or the jetty's to get that bit more distance and the anglers which are using the Nymphs on a long leader or Boobies on the bottom have been catching the better bags. Hopefully this week the water will clear out and the fish will be back on the feed as they were before, If you are in the boats then don't be afraid to drift out in open water and off the back end off the boils as the fish will be out in the deeper cooler water.
Hope to see you up here catching soon
