Weekly results week ending - 30th May
104 anglers caught 481 fish rod average 4.6 Excellent week this week with lots of top of the water sport in recent days. The strong north east winds of bank holiday weekend decreased and shifted early in the week and near perfect conditions have prevailed since. Lighter and warmer winds have meant lots of fish feeding near the surface, responding well to CDC dries, foamy Shipman's buzzers, emergers and buzzers fished on the 'washing line'. Banks good as long as it's cloudy, if not, jump in a boat and head out. Evenings very good with mainly buzzers coming off but a few sedges now showing, so sport will begin to get even better as the sedge hatches increase. Look to fish traditional sedge patterns such as the invicta range, soldier palmers, grenadiers and don't forget the dry G&H, a must in the Toft anglers fly box ! Plenty more good rainbows again, best 8Ib's to Mr. Shaw-Browne. Attached photo of Derby County Angling Club member Steve Marriot with a well mended 4-12 rainbow taken on a CDC buzzer.
