Blackwater Lodge Newsletter - June 2, 2008

A timely Flood hits the Blackwater. This morning there is a 1-2 foot flood hitting the upper Blackwater down as far as Ballyhooly by lunchtime today. The upper river is very coloured this morning, but so far it hasn't hit the lower river. There are reports of a lot of rain still falling this morning in the top of the catchment, which will probably put another foot or two on top of this. Looking at the Metcheck forecast for Cork  there is 34mm rain forecast between today & Friday & 43mm for Kerry, which should keep the river topped up.
We are expecting great sport once this flood subsides, because the last 1½ foot flood on May 22 resulted in 13 fish to 14lb for only 32 rod days between May 24-28.
Keep up to date with all the latest news on our Fishing Report page (password required).
