A really good weeks fishing with some good sport on the dries, particularly on the top lake. Even on days where it has been too bright for them to rise they have been coming up as soon as the sun has gone behind a cloud. We've had odd spells when the wind, although very light, has been cool and that has sometimes held them down. Great sport for those who like the dry - for those who don't it has at times been awkward. Black spinner patterns, Hawthorne's and sedge have all been good on the surface. When the wind has been cool the emergers and hoppers have worked just sub-surface. Damsels or the olive zonker have done well deeper down and so have bloodworms or red buzzers. Cats Whisker is also still taking a few. There is a mass of natural life in the lakes at the moment - some enormous snails, tadpoles, fry, some of which are quite large, damsel nymphs, bloodworm and masses of fly life - sedges, alder flies, midge and hawthorne flies though they still aren't out in vast numbers.
Doubles this week went to Jonathan Howe from Hartlepool who took a 17lb 7oz on a Gold Head Damsel.

Sean Dorothy from Sunderland landed an 11lb 14oz rainbow on a Flexitail Bloodworm.

Ben Davison, just eleven years old, from Thornaby, landed a 10lb 2oz on an Olive Zonker.

Thankyou,
