Foremark w/e 19/04/08

What is this weather all about strong cold easterlies the worst and the coldest, but luckily the sport at Foremark is still on top form with the fish feeding hard and the anglers bagging up.  The rod average this week was 4.8 with the largest fish being another 9lb rainbow.
Colick Park had their first match on Foremark this year 16 fished, all on boats bar two.On arrival the wind was strong and blowing towards the Lodge. Most boats headed for more sheltered fishing. Terry Prince however anchored near the cages and caught his 6 fish on a sinking line. The majority caught on Booby’s near the bottom, excluding Robin Soar and John Hyem who fished floating lines with long leaders all day; both caught superb fish on black & green Montanas. John won with 17lb 2oz (inc heaviest fish 5lb 2oz) and Robin was a close second with 17lb. Congratulations to both.
It was great to welcome some newcomers to the Club, Adam Brookes who was 4th , Tom Carter had his best Match day to date with 6 fish and guest Jane Taylor caught 4 off the bank. Several had their limit and went on to Catch & Release. Our total fish weight was 155lb 12oz. Nearly an average of 10lbs per rod.
The areas which are fishing the best for the bank lads have been Verduns Point all the way round to Flamingo in the bay and down the Cavers arm past Sunblest to the power lines, The east bank has been producing a lot of fish as well mainly on the Nymphs at the top of the wind and lures - Boobies at the bottom.  Boat anglers are starting to catch all over the lake on the same patterns mainly lures so keep on the move.  Hopefully the weather will improve at some stage and hope to see you up here soon Tight Lines Phil Dixon.
