What a strange week weather wise at Witton, for 2 or 3 days mild spring weather with fish up on the top taking emergers and small CDC dries. Then back to winter conditions the flies stop hatching and anglers having to change tactics ,and go back underneath to catch them on Buzzers, Bloodworms, and weighted nymphs.
Despite these changes anglers are catching some cracking fish with the quite man from Willington Mr Terry Ross securing yet again 2 doubles, some achievment as he has done this on a few occasions last season.

The biggest double being 21lbs 8ozs followed by a 10lbs 4oz, finishing his bag limit with a 3lbder all taken on Bloodworms and Buzzers fished in a conventional style, no indicators for this angler.
Gareth Tilley from Lanchester took his biggest double todate at 18lbs 10ozs caught on a Cats Whisker.

John Mcullagh from Hartlepool had a fish of 10lbs 12oz along with Melvyn Hope from Tow Law a further 10lbder in his bag limit. All fish were in superb condition and fought hard in this very cold water.
Thankyou
