Well the weather isn't in the same league as New Zealand but the fishing isn't far off this week at Foremark with overwintered rainbows coming off at 9lb, browns up to 5lb and every size in between. Another fantastic weeks fishing has been had with a superb rod average of 6 which will be hard to beat any where in the country. Anglers have been catching some big bags and on small flies. Tony Wright can't do anything wrong at the moment fishing off the bank around Flamingo to Bramble Bay, Tony from Derby has been taking big bags of fish on his floating line and dead drifting buzzers and a small Damsel. Local angler Mick Litchfield had one of his best days ever from a boat this week catching 17 fish from the Cascade Bay to the Gorse Bushes Mick said "if every pull i had stuck i would have caught 30 plus what a days great sport" . The lake is producing some of the finest fish I have ever seen with plenty of rainbows coming out 4lb to 7lb, and some even bigger with the odd brown round the 5lb mark popping up as well so make sure you test them knots. The best fish this week was a 9lb 2oz rainbow taken by Martin Hawes who tempted the fine fish by fishing small black buzzers on 4lb tippit, fished on a floating line in flamingo bay. Martin finished the day taking 5 fish all on small size 14 black buzzers. Looking ahead to next week if the weather breaks, then we could see the fish move up in the water looking for the hawthorn and see some fantastic dry fly sport. Hopefully see you all up here soon, tight lines.
