Weekly results week ending - 11th April
81 anglers caught 518 fish rod average 6.4
Another excellent week in a once again mixed weather week. Last weekend the return of cold northerly winds made the bank an unpleasant place to be - which affected angler numbers. From Tuesday onwards conditions have been slightly better with variable winds, frosty starts and daytime temperatures to around 10 celsius.
There's been lots of buzzers hatching and during mid week good sport was had dry fly fishing. Other than dries, small black buzzers and Diawl Bach's have once again been the order of the day. Floating lines have sufficed with fish only a few feet down.
Best rainbow this week, a 7Ib fish to Roger Walker from Jacksdale, Nottingham taken on a floating line and a small black buzzer.

He was fishing in a Nottinghamshire Police match and took second place, with Dave Stanford taking first with six fish for 14Ib 13oz plus a time bonus.
Remember the Toft Open bank match on June 7th sponsored by Firecon LTD with a £1,000 first prize. The competition will be advertised nationally within the next fortnight, so I would expect places to fill fast. It would be nice to see a healthy number of Toft regulars fishing and it would be even nicer to see one of you win !! Tickets can be reserved and paid for online in the Toft shop at www.toftnewton.com/shop
CLICK HERE for details of a beginners day and friendly fishing match being put on by the England Ladies team at Toft. It's planned for May Day, Monday the 5th and all proceeds will go towards funding of the team's events.
