Despite the inclement Spring weather, Foremark continues to produce superb fish and bulging bags.
At total of 285 anglers visited the fishery in the week, producing a rod average of 4.6. Largest fish this week was a 9lb 6oz rainbow taken by Mr. Bray from Chesterfield, fishing a buzzer from the lodge bank. Iain Barr visited again this week, and took 31 fish from the boat. He spent some time on the Ticknall bank, and every one of the 15 fish he caught in that area was overwintered. Some quality browns have also been caught, most on deeply fished buzzers.
In any warmer spells there have been large hatches of buzzers in all shallow areas. Top bank spots are the dam, sailing club, flamingo bay and the sunblest bay area. From the boats anchoring in downwind areas close to the bank is the best option.
From both boat and bank, deep and slow in the watchword. A large stocking was made on 7th April so prospects for the weeks ahead are excellent.

REPORT OF COMMONWEALTH FLY FISHING CHAMPIONSHIPS - NEW ZEALAND
The England team included Foremark Trout Fishery owner Phil Dixon and fellow Derbyshire angler Bernie Maher. Despite strong competition, a consistent performance by all of the England rods saw them take silver, beaten only by a very strong Scottish team who chose to fish the Commonwealth rather than World Championships.
Phil Dixon was top England rod, and was delighted to win the individual bronze medal.
