Another week of excellent sport at Foremark, despite the very cold unseasonal weather over Easter.
The rainbows are feeding hard on the first buzzer hatches of the season in the area in front of the lodge, and in the sailing club bay and flamingo bay.
The rod average has been maintained at a healthy 7, and many fish of between 5 and 6lb have been caught. Largest brown and rainbow, both in excess of 9lb were caught and returned in the same area near the cages by Gary Mann and Mike Mason respectively.
Fishery owner Phil Dixon has avoided the cold weather and is enjoying superb sport in the North Island of New Zealand with wild brown trout in the run-up to the Commonwealth Championships. The Championships will be fished in the first week of April a full report will follow.
