Thornton fishing report week ending 23/03/08
What a week, strong winds, rain, sleet & snow we’ve had it all, & unsurprisingly rod numbers for the week were well down with a couple of days when nobody fished, & to be honest I don’t blame them it really has been an atrocious week of weather. In all only 39 rods ventured out & recorded a catch of 33 trout, I guess that says it all.
The few rods who did venture out caught once again along the shallows of the Thornton Arm & wood with lures fished slowly on a sinking line working best.At least the forecast for the coming week looks better, & spring must be around the corner as I spotted the first Sand Martin over the water on Thursday 20th.
