Jubilee Report to March 8th.
Fishing has been good with an average of 3.7 per rod. Shame about the
winds though which have certainly disrupted the fishing again. It has
been very difficult for inexperienced anglers.
The trout have not appreciated the changeable and windy weather either -
they have been taking very tentatively. Anglers have been getting lots
of takes but the trout have not been taking a proper hold and a lot of
fish have been lost off. Ryan Barron fished on Thursday and did very
well once he realised that he barely needed to strike to hook the fish -
with just gentle pressure they were hooking themselves. If he struck
into them they were off. Ryan was fishing a floater and Cat's Whisker on
the top lake but slightly deeper and still using a Cat on the lower lake.
A Zonker has also done well this week - olive or grizzle. By Saturday
this had to be fished pretty deep to tempt the trout.
A good week for doubles with seven out in total:-
Gary Smith from Whitby landed the largest at 19lb 12oz on a Bloodworm

followed by Blyth Palmer from South Shields who took a 17lb 2oz on a
Grizzle Zonker.

Paul Hughes from Burnhope took a 15lb 12oz on a Natural
Zonker and Steve Johnston from Washington took his 12-2oz rainbow also
on a Zonker - black this time.

Gary Dale from Forrest Hall bagged an 11lb 13oz but this was caught on a Black Buzzer - one of the few on a buzzer lately - wonder why! Paul Pechershi landed a 10lb 15oz on an
Orange Tailed Dawson's Olive and finally Thomas Parker from Consett took
his 10lb 8oz on an Olive Zonker.

We can again only hope for a bit of settled weather.
Thankyou,
Dave & Sandra
