Jubilee fishing report for week ended 1st March
Well I could say it's been a great weeks fishing - and it probably has
been allowing for the conditions - we've still averaged over 3 per rod.
But the winds have been dreadful and I admire the anglers who have
fished in it. Let's again hope for more settled weather.
Best pattern again has certainly been the Cat's Whisker - lime or yellow
and white version. White lures with a bit of flash such as the Humungus
have been good and Damsels or Olive Zonkers. It has been very much as
last week though when most things were catching if you could just get
your fly on the water. We are reasonably sheltered here so goodness
knows what the wind has been like on other waters.
Doubles for this week have been caught by Mr Steve Aldred from Newton
Aycliffe on a Cat's Whisker. He landed a 14lb 7oz.

Paul Murray from Consett caught a 12lb 5oz on a Montana

and Master A Bennett from Ingleby Barwick - who has just recently taken up fly fishing - landed himself an 11lb 13oz on an Orange Fritz.

Thankyou,
Dave & Sandra
