Report to 23rd February 2008
Variable fishing with the weather. I've included an image of part of our
lower lake - taken this week. The lakes weren't frozen but it certainly
was very cold.

We went from near freezing to very strong winds so that
the fishing never could have been great. Still the rod average over the
days was just below three so it could have been worse. Friday was
certainly the best of the days.
A mixed bunch of 'taking' patterns but overall the Cats Whisker - lime &
white version has been best. Black Daddies - the gold head variety have
also worked. It has been so windy at times that I think if you could
just get any pattern in the right place (not the back of your head!),
then you were probably in with a chance.
Two doubles went to Mr James Stephenson from Great Ayton.

The first at 16lb 3oz was caught on a Cart's Whisker and his second at 13lb 3oz was
caught on a white lure with a silver flash through it.

Mr Paul Bellas from Shildon also landed a 12lb 14oz on a Pink Lure.

Hoping for more settled conditions for the coming week.
Thankyou,
Dave & Sandra
