Great re-opening week though spoilt at times with some true winter
weather - one thing we just haven't managed to control yet. The rod
average over our first three opening days was 4.5 but considering that
anglers were almost blown off the lakes on Friday and couldn't see for
the snow anyway, that was pretty good. Just shows what a determined lot
we have fishing here at Jubilee!
Some good trout out - eight doubles over these first few days.

Largest was 17lb 14oz. Caught by Mr Paul Moore from Hetton le Hole on a
pattern of his own - black straggle fritz body and green tail.

Gordon Swain from Dipton came a close second with a double of 17lb 10oz caught on a Damsel.

Ross Goulden from Cramlington had a 16lb 13oz on an Olive Zonker.

John Wildon from Middlesbrough caught his 16lb 13oz double on a Dawsons Olive.

Lee Haslem from Stokesley landed a 14lb 11oz on a Black Zonker.

Matthew Devine from Amble took a 13lb 12oz on a Cats Whisker.

Shaun Dorothy from Sunderland caught his 13lb 7oz on a Dawsons Olive.
Blythe Palmer from South Shields took an 11lb 9oz rainbow on a Black
Zonker and finally Mr I Robinson from Newcastle took a 10lb 13oz on a
Cats Whisker.
Best patterns have probably been Olive Zonkers and the Dawsons Olive. We
have had one or two come to a buzzer or bloodworm but the olive patterns
and probably also the Cats Whisker have done best.
