What a Christmas anglers have had this year at Ellerdine, with anglers catching plenty of fish and plenty of good Rainbows over 6lb also. The year finished on a high as Ellerdine hosted its friendly pairs competition last Sunday with a huge turnout of 60 anglers.

Top spot were Crewe anglers Lindsey Capper and Brian Mc Barron with an 8 fish total of 45lb 12oz,with Brian having the biggest fish of the match a superb 9lb 1oz Rainbow. there method was to fish Buzzers  under an indicator 15ft out. They won Over £400 of tackle each plus a shield. 2nd place went to Walsall regulars Mal and Mark Harrison with 8 fish for 37lb 14oz. 3rd was Crewe based Iain Buckley and Glen Moody with a 8 fish limit of 36lb 15oz.

Other notable catches of the week were:

S Pritchard of Shrewsbury returned 21 Rainbows to 5lb fishing a Black and Green Lure on Cranymoor, Mr B Hall of Wednesbury returned 15 Rainbows to 4lb. 

In total 205 anglers this week returned around 1200 fish for a rod average of around 6 fish per angler.

Stocking continues with another 150 fish this week.
