Brilliant weeks fishing - probably the best since the spring!

Anglers have averaged almost six per rod this week in conditions where
only the brave have dared to tread! Just the sort of weather the daft
trout like with a westerley breeze and settled though very cold
conditions. No ice on the lakes so no problem there and the water isn't
yet cold enough to make the trout lethargic.
Loads of doubles:-

15lb 7oz caught by Mr Phil Totten from Lanchester on the dreaded Sexy
Bloodworm. Paul Pawson from Guidepost, fishing here for the first time,
caught a 15lb 6oz & a 13lb 8oz, both on a Cat's Whisker. Tony Fox from
Greenside took a 13lb 10oz on a black Cone Head. Karen Cardwell from
Darlington landed a 12lb 15oz rainbow on a Cat's Whisker - she just
happened to mention as I was weighing it that she's now had more doubles
here this year than either her husband Dave or his mate Lance Roberts!

Stuart O'Dell from Stanhope had an 11lb-11oz on a Cat's Whisker and
finally A Turnbull from Consett had a 10lb 14oz on a Black Zonker.
Black is back as being the deadly colour again this week though the
trout have had spells on a red or pink bloodworm. The Cat's Whisker has
also done very well - especially with the bigger trout.

Please remember we are open as usual over the holidays but in January we
are closed from the 7th to the 30th inclusive of those dates.
