JUBILEE LAKES REPORT FOR WEEK ENDED 09/12/2007
JUBILEE LAKES REPORT FOR WEEK ENDED 09/12/2007

D fletcher 15-0RS.jpg

Good weeks fishing - black being the colour again - as for the last few
weeks. Black Vibrating Daddy, Black Bloodworm (esp. tied Totten style on
a red Jardine grub hook), Black Humungus and Zonkers.

All changed however on Sunday afternoon when the weather became much
colder. Whereas the trout had been taking black patterns very steadily
for more than a month, Cat's Whiskers (white lures generally), Red
Bloodworm and Buzzers became the chosen patterns. You would have thought
someone had flicked a switch!

Phil totten 14-13RS.jpg

Over the years we've seen this happen so many times - when the trout
will be almost addicted to one pattern, in this case just the colour
black, for a considerable length of time, and then will just drop it and
have a complete change. Mostly it is down to a change in the weather, as
I think in this case, but sometimes it is harder to tell. We think
perhaps due to what is hatching in the lake, or perhaps some kind of
weed growth or minute algae. Only the trout know - and the newly stocked
trout will follow the same trend.

Some good trout out again this week with David Fletcher from East Boldon
taking a 15lb trout on a Black Zonker. Phil Totten from Lanchester took
a 14lb 13oz on his Sexy Bloodworm. Dan Sefton from Burnopfield landed a
14lb 12oz on a Black Zonker and Mark Wilson from Hebburn and Dennis
Cutler from Norton both landed 12lb 5oz rainbows on a Black Tadpole.

Thankyou,
Dave & Sandra
