Cold frosty mornings but the fishing is still hot!
Flylife in abundance as the days temperatures rise, Buzzers, Pond Olives,
Damsels, and Red Emperor Dragons all ecloding together during the short warm
periods.

The cooler clearer water has activated fish into a search feeding pattern,
plenty fish in the 3 to 5lb range with a nice few doubles coming out, some
being returned by Sporting Permit anglers.
Best fish of the week fell to Mr T Aldus from Durham a superb specimen at
19lbs followed by a further two 2lbders on a Black Buzzer.
Mr Steve Walton from Southchurch, and Mr Paul Walton from Willington, both
had doubles at 17lbs and 16lbs each on Steves own tying the Minty Black
Zonker.

Top water flies have been CDC's, Hares Ear Shipmans, along with muddlers
pulled through the surface. Just under and lower in the water colum, Black
and Olive Buzzers, and Damsels. Lures have been Black and Olive Zonkers, and
Black and Green Fritz.
Sporting Permit anglers Mr Ryan Barron from Coxhoe on a new conceipt fly,
returned 8 fish best to 16lbs and another at 19lbs, along with Mr Bernie Mc
Kewon from Meadowfield returning 8 fish best to 12lbs on a Black Fritz.
River Wear desperately low, as the Salmon and Sea Trout season rapidly is
coming to a close, short of a miracle, the water height remains the same,
and the river and side streams are full of fallen leaves ready to pass
through on the next flood.
Well we still have the Lady of the Stream to contend with through out our
winter period, and we have some nice graying both in the Tees and the Wear
