Jubilee Lakes report for week ended 20th October.
A great weeks fishing! Gone are those dog days of Summer and we are now into some really good fishing and the doubles are taking an interest again.

Chris Ryan.
Mr Philip Totten from Lanchester took a 25lb 14oz rainbow on a
Cormorant. Mr Chris Ryan from South Shields took a 21lb 5oz rainbow on
a White Zonker. Mr Tom Carroll from Newton Aycliffe took a 18lb 2oz
rainbow on a Dawson's Olive and Mr Harry Freeman from Durham took a 17lb
2oz on a Cormorant. This is apart from the standard stock fish which are
running at an average of over 3.5lb in weight at the moment.
Phil Totten from Lanchester really livened things up with his double.
He's been quietly sneaking out the odd double (four this year between
10lb & 16lb 4oz), but broke his own record and our fishery record by
landing a 25lb 14oz rainbow. Our previous record of 24lb 8oz has stood
for quite a number of years and every year we have expected it to be
broken. We were very pleased to shake Phil's hand when he landed his
beauty, caught on his own tying of a Cormorant.
The trout are chasing fry so fry imitations such as the Zonkers are
doing well. Olive patterns and particularly the Dawson's are also
catching very steadily. An intermediate line seems to have fished better
this week - probably due to the very bright conditions.
Thankyou,
Dave & Sandra
