WITTON CASTLE LAKES REPORT WEEK ENDING 14/10/07.
Fishing is exellent at Witton at the minute. Temperatures seem to be just
right to keep the fly hatching and the fish feeding. Most days we are seeing
pond olives hatching off in good numbers and the fish are eager to take the
nymphs or the emergers. Therefore CDC Hares Ear nymphs and PTN. and GRHE.
nymphs are all doing well. Sub Surface, Black Zonkers and Dawsons Olive are
certainly taking their share of fish.

Doug Bruce: from Sunderland : Rainbow 9lbs. look at its tail, no
half measures here.
Best fish fell to Glen Appleby from Peterlee taken on a Black Zonker and
weighing in at 17lbs.
Gary Walton from Cockfield had a cracker at 16lbs. 6oz. also on a Black
Zonker. Doug Bruce came off the fishery just going into dark with a
magnificent specimen at 9lbs. on a Dawsons Olive. Tom Cave from Washington
had two exellent fish at 9lbs. and 5lbs. I. Robinson from Westerhope had an
excellent day on a Sporting Permit with fish of 10lbs, 6 lbs , and 3lbs.
Rivers Wear and Tees are both in desperate need of a good flood , there are
salmon and sea trout about in most of the pools, but the ones being caught
are mostly coloured and being carefully returned.
