This week has seen an improvement in catch rates as the trout start to turn to the huge amounts of fry just waiting to be eaten.
Rod average for the week was 3.3 with 102 anglers visiting the water enjoying great sport.
Top boat areas have been Cascades, Heron Bay, Bush Bay and Sailing Club, though drifting around 100yards of the bank from the Sailing Club to the Boat Jetty has by far been the most productive of areas.
Bank sport is coming into its own now as the water temperature really starts to drop bringing some great sport with it.
Top bank areas have been Sunblest Bay, Hut Point, Flamingo Shallows and Bush Bay to Heron Point. The Boat Jetty is holding many good fish due to the huge amounts of fry congregating around it offering a good opportunity for anglers who like to stalk their catch.

Best fish of the week was a cracking full tailed rainbow of 5lb 8oz to Norman Beedle who finished his day off in style with two more superb rainbows, well done Norman who has only just come into the sport this summer. Rens has been on top form at the moment taking two 5lb rainbows last week and a brown trout which would have weighed well over the 3lb mark.
Looking to the last week of the season we should see some great sport all the way until the finish with a lot of big fish predicted to be caught. Any trip will be counted on your Bonus Books to get them filled so get your tackle ready one last time and see you up here soon.
Tight Lines Phil Dixon.
