A Fresh run 6lbs 4oz Salmon, Photo by Scott Henderson.
The River is running about 7" above summer level and water clarity is good.
There were two Salmon lost yesterday and plenty of small Sea Trout free rising along Beat 1.
Conditions should be ideal today and I fully expect to have more reports of fish being caught.
If you do catch, remember it's sometimes better to return fish as this will improve our catches in the future. It would be great if we could start to collect scale samples from fish, about 12 scales is all we need, date, species and weight, this will help us understand the salmon and sea trout that run our river. Scales can be collected from fish returned as well.
