Thornton weekly report week ending 09/09/07
The only consistent part to last weeks fishing was the last hour which provided a good evening rise every night to buzzers & sedges. Fishing During the day was very mixed with one day fishing better than the other yet the conditions looked the same.
Clive Holt proved the evening session was best catching 9 on emerges & sedge patterns, Melvyn Pepper fished his static buzzer patterns for the third consecutive week & showed he had the buzzer patterns the trout wanted catching 18 for his visit, Andy Downes tried the float tube for the first time & caught 4 on buzzers, members C. Bray & M. Hugill caught 12 between them for their morning visit, D. Hussey fished the evening rise with a soldier palmer to catch 6 while G. Jackson caught 6 on a sedge pattern from in front of the lonesome pine.
The common theme of the week was the number of anglers who reported fish coming short, rolling & swirling at the dries.
The most productive time to fish has been late morning onwards, with the evening rise well worth waiting for.
