Foremark Fishery Report Week Ending 4.8.07

Another fantastic weeks fishing has been had up on Foremark this week with a great rod average of 3.4.  Rainbows and the browns have been taking Flies all through the day which has been great to watch and even better for the anglers to cast at rising fish.  The top 6ft of water has been the place to fish with anglers catching the fish on dries and down to blobs on a slow sinker great sport.
Si Owens from Derby had a fine day with his boat partner Dave Ledger taking 19 fish before 12.30, all of the fish up to 4lb came to a intermediate with a black dabbler on the top and a small cat boobie on the point.  Si and Dave fished from a boat over on the far side of the Dam wall drifting past number 3 buoy to bush bay.   Ken Brown showed everyone how to catch fish from the bank by taking 9 fish off Hut Point.  Ken was fishing a floating line and a team of Diawl Bachs which has been the best fly this week both off the bank and in the boats.  Ken was casting a long line and just letting the wind pull the flies around in a nice bend and the fish were just swimming off with them.
Boat anglers have had good sport all around the Cages, Boils and off the Buoys drifting through the  middle has produced alot of fish.  Bank anglers are catching steady off Hut Point, Verduns Point and the best place has been the boat jetty.  The most important thing has been to fish your flies in the top 6ft of water where the fish are.  A few Daddy long legs have been seen this week and the dry Daddy's are taking a lot of fish so it wont be long before we see some fantastic rises again so get ready and look forward to seeing you up here.  Tight Lines
