Thornton Fishing report week ending 02/09/07
Mid morning onwards has been the most productive time to fish with a good evening rise to buzzers and sedges, especially during the last hour.
During any bright spells buzzers fished static or under a sight bob have worked best with emerges & dries taking fish when its overcast or into the evening. Green, black or brown buzzers, suspender buzzers, hoppers small sedges & muddlers have all taken fish this last week.
Notable catches were made by Andy Downes catching 26 trout to 3lb on buzzers, A. Vaughan caught 11 for his mornings visit, , Scott Wilson caught 17 for his two visits on damsel, hares ear & daddies, Lol Worrall caught 10 on buzzers & bloodworm while M. Pepper caught 20 on size 14 – 16 buzzers.
The wood bank, Thornton & Markfield arm continues to be the most productive area but during the last hour a drift around the reservoir should have you covering plenty of feeding trout.
