Foremark Fishery Report Week Ending 30.8.07

I have never seen summer fishing this good in my life Foremark has been fishing it's head off with a rod average of 4.8 and anglers taking over 30 fish on nothing more than a floater,  it can't be beat surely?
The fishing has been sensational on Foremark with fish feeding freely all day and high in the water even in the bright conditions on some days.  The stocked fish which are coming from the cages could be making the difference with the trout already use to the water.  Mike Laycock and John Henshall from Crewe had a fantastic days sport taking 67 fish to the boat, all on Floaters and a Daddy long legs on the point with a couple of Diawl Bachs up the line.  Most of the fish they took was along the Dam Wall near the Tower and all the way down the Ticknall Bank to the Cascade,  They couldn't believe how many fish were feeding and in the lake with free rising fish all day they didn't know which fish to cover next.  Mike and John had some cracking fish with rainbows up to 5lb.  Ray Land had a good days sport off the bank taking 7 fish in a Morning but the funny thing was he didn't have 1 rainbow all browns and Brooke's he couldn't believe his look.
Boat anglers are finding the sport excellent with most people taking limits the hot spots have been the Boils, Bush Bay right to the Cascade, Sailing Club Bay and all around the Cages.  Bank anglers have just started to take fish in the Bays with the Sailing Club and Flamingo both holding plenty of fish.  If you fish up in the water with natural patterns Daddy Long Legs, Hoppers, Dabblers and even the odd lure you will catch fish, Diawl Bachs and buzzers have worked well but try and fish them up in the water.  200 Brown trout up to 3lb have gone in this week and with the fry around we could see some great fry action in the next few months, 1 brown is allowed to be taken with each ticket.  There are a few places left for the Formark Open on the 8th September so ring the lodge to book your chance of winning the CASH,  01283 703202.  Tight lines and hope to see you up here soon.  Phil Dixon
