Thornton fishing report week ending 26/08/07
With last weeks improving fishing conditions, water temperature below 18 degrees, daytime temperature between 65 – 70 degrees & at times plenty of cloud the fishing has certainly improved with trout feeding off the surface to large hatches of olive buzzers, sedges & a few damsels. Most evenings have produced an evening rise with the best of the sport during the last hour.
John Hanson & Jim Everett fished an evening session up the Thornton arm & caught 12 between them to 3lb on sedges & buzzers, Lol Worrall fished static buzzers to catch 12 for his afternoon visit, Martin Lowe caught 14 on buzzers, while Mick Huffer took a morning off from giving tuiton to catch 8 for his morning visit, Andy Downes enjoyed fantastic sport on his buzzers catching 20 for his afternoon session, M. Pepper & John Smith shared a boat & caught 24 between them with Mark Sturgees catching 10 for his evening session.
The trout are well spread with anglers catching along the Thornton Arm, in front of the wood & down along the Markfield arm with olive or black emergers, buzzers & dries taking fish.
