Weekly results week ending - 24/8
92 rods caught 291 for a rod average of 3.2
A good week in sometimes difficult conditions. A very changeable week weather wise with Autumnal strong cold North winds mid week changing to bright & sunny conditions more recently. Plenty of fish still up in North West corner and now others showing in North East corner and black pipe area. Best rainbow 4Ib 13oz to Dave McGeever from Mansfield who managed 8 fish fishing at the top of the wind on dries. Local anglers Dave Holroyd and Martin Rowson were clear winners for the best catch taking around 40 fish from a drifting boat fishing a variety of patterns just a few feet down.
On bright days boats fairing best as fish move out to deeper water but otherwise bank sport very good. Diawl Bachs, damsels, snail patterns, olive & brown buzzers and dry daddies working well and if all else fails a concrete bowl or Dawson's olive is worth a go!! Very good buzzer hatches the last few evenings.
