Bewl Water Fishery Report Week Ending 23 August 2007
Bank fishing remains difficult but anglers have had some success at Bramble Point, Ferry Point and Monty's Seat. Peter Woodgate caught 2 rainbows weighing 5lb and 6lb at Ferry Point with his Emma Lindsay Fly.
Boat fishing has improved with a number of anglers catching their 8 fish limits. Best areas remain the main bowl and near the cages. The fish are still on or near the surface and have been taking Boobies, Daddies, Hoppers, Crunchers and Cormorants.
Well done Teri, from the Ukflyfisher Team.
Several fish of note have been caught this week, including a 7lb 4oz rainbow netted by Teri Park on her first trip to Bewl Water. Fishing from a boat near the cages, Terri hooked this cracking rainbow on a Daddy fished under a Cortland Blue line. Bewl regular Eric Goodall had the largest fish of the week with a 7lb 11oz rainbow from the main bowl on an intermediate line with a Daddy. Robert Toptalo - another regular - caught a 7lb 2oz rainbow, also in the main bowl. (no other details available)
Please note that there are no boats available on Wednesday 12th September due to the annual Grand Max competition.
