Well what a mixed week again you wouldn't know it's summer hey!!  A good rod average of 3.2 on the lake this week with some anglers taking really good bags while other anglers were struggling for a fish.

Pete Moore of Burton had a great days fishing from a boat taking a nice limit of fish and returning a few, his day was top off by landing a magnificent rainbow of 11lb.  Pete was fishing his wet Cel 2 (sinker) up on the boils when this monster stop his line dead after a 15 minute battle the fish was landed and Pete couldn't believe what he had just
landed on his Silver Invictor.  Phil Harding found fishing easy on one of the wettest days taking 7 fish in a morning session on a Muddler pulled through the surface.  Jody and Geordie Bob took the best catch this week they landed 25 fish in an afternoon session up on the boils.  The tactics were simple a Minky Booby fished quite quick on a floater or an intermediate,  when they stop taking the fish on the boils they moved out and fished the open water taking even more fish  Good Angling!!!

Bank anglers are finding the fishing hard with the fish feeding hard on fry or just out of reach.  Fishing from Verdun's Point round to the Lodge bank have been the best areas.  Boat anglers are really catching well off the boils if you fish your flies slow enough that has been the trick, also fish where the water is clear a bit of algae is on the lake and with the wind changing so often it can't settle.
Top Patterns have been a real good mixture with fish taking Daddies off the top Hoppers just under and Blobs and Boobies also taking alot of fish on sinking lines it all depends on the day and what the conditions are so ASK in the lodge.  Hopefully see you soon and tight lines Phil Dixon.
