Thornton Fishing Report, period 8/07/07 – 22/07/07
During the past fortnight 256 rods caught 401 trout returning 156 during what have been the most difficult fishing conditions of the season so far.
During the past fortnight mixed weather, humid conditions pushed the water temperature to above 20 degrees before the heavy rain on Friday put the level of the reservoir up over a foot but bought the water temperature down to a fish friendly 17 degrees. By today Monday the water level has returned to normal with the water clarity between 16inch & 2ft.
Orange & yellow blobs, booby’s & tadpoles have produced best during the last few days although one of my members did have trout chasing a large brown muddler stripped through the surface on Sunday morning.
With the current weather I recommend you contact the lodge for up to date fishing conditions on 01530 230807.
