The fish now at Foremark have been hard on the natural fly life which
has made it hard work for some of the anglers. The trout have been feeding
hard on Buzzers, Damsels, Daphnia and the Mayfly Nymph and also the dry.
The rod average this week was 2.8 with alot of the fish feeding early on in
the morning or late evenings.
Anglers have been taking the fish from a variety of places both from
the bank and the boats. Boat anglers have been having good catches out
from the banks with the Boils holding fish and all the way down the Cavers
arm along number 3, 4, 5 and 6 Buoys, the Cages have also dragged a few
fish around and anglers are starting to catch there. For the bank lads its
been hard work with the weather coming so nice the weed has shot up and
made it hard to fish in a lot of places. The best spots have been of the
Jetty, Sailing Club Bay, over the hill in Sunblest and if you have a pair
of Waders then Bramble bay is the place to be with trout feeding on Mayfly
like you have never seen.
Top patterns have been Dries and Nymphs fished slow of the bank
with buzzers under the Bung taking lots of fish, but the boat lads have
been catching on buzzers fished slow or pulling Blobs back in open water
with a couple of wets on the droppers.
I have been away this week fishing for England on rutland Water
which has been hard work but fun and the out come was outstanding a Gold
Medal. I would like to thank the whole team and the Manager for this great
result; winning the Gold Medal by 20 fish takes some doing well done lads.
