Fishery manager,Colin Douglas of the Witton Castle Lakes troutfishery, a trout masters water at Witton le Wear, County Durham has just sent these pictures of some superb rainbow trout.

Angler Geoff Wharton is pictured with an 18lb best fish of the season so far.

Geoff, from Spinneymoor, took this 18lb beauty on a size 20 black buzzer, with a mole skin thorax, fishing with a 3.9lb point , new zealand style under a cdc shuttlecock buzzer, " Now that's fishing.

John King ,fishing an hour later in the same spot took this 17lb rainbow on a lime green buzzer under an indicator.
