The recent heavy rain brought the River Almond Nr Edinburgh into a perfect spate and there was an extremely good Seatrout run into the water controlled by the Cramond Angling Club.
Club secretary Fen' Howieson gave ukflyfisher a running report via mobile phone as it happened late into the evening.
He counted 46 Seatrout in an hour, some hitting the 8lb mark ascending the ladder at the Cramond Falls Pool on the lower Almond.
Anglers should take advantage of these flash floods as the fish will climb the ladder quickly and find the deep holes above the falls. They will shoal up in these deeper pools and won't start to move before darkness.
So find one fish and you should be in for a good nights fishing. More rain is expected so more fish should be entering the river on each tide.
The Cramond Angling Club controls 3.5 miles of the River Almond , and this is easily available for just £20:00p per year or £10:00p for a day ticket.
